Mandala is the Sanskrit word for circle. Mandalas are most commonly known for being spiritual and meditative tools in Hinduism and Buddhism. They were also part of ancient Mayan and Aztec civilizations and appear as symbolic architecture and art in Christianity, Judaism and Jungian psychology.
A mandala is an arrangement of nested geometric shapes that represent a journey. Mandala experiences are deep, playful and surprising in what they can reveal. Clients have received intuitive information about their project, soul path, or long-held mysteries within their psyche and often leave the session with clarity and confidence about moving forward.
Sand Mirror offers guided mandala-making sessions, both in-person at the Los Angeles studio and remotely over the phone. Remote participation involves you, in your own space, with any basic art or doodling supplies as a Sand Mirror facilitator simultaneously builds a mandala back in the studio.

Each session begins by discussing your intention or question for the session. The participants light a candle to symbolically ignite and merge group intuition. Then a silent period follows during which each person listens to their own intuition and begins to doodle or, respectively, move the mandala pieces into various shapes as it resolves geometric conflicts within itself along the way. At a certain point, the mandala/art-making journey is shared among the participants, and a response to the initial intention emerges.

A time-lapse video of your mandala is available for an additional $30.
